Golden State Foster Family Agency, specializing in therapeutic treatment and counseling, recruits and trains foster families in order to place children in need of out-of-home care.

We receive our children from Child Protective Services and Probation. Many of our children have been in numerous foster homes throughout their short lives and may be in need of a home willing to withstand their behaviors and make a long-term commitment. Other children may be in need of a short-term placement that can assist with future independent living. Either type of home will be tailored to not only the foster parent's need, but primarily the needs of the child.

Our Agency provides social services to children, and on-going training and support to foster families. Golden State also provides the highest quality foster placement for children graduating from group home programs and/or direct placements through county probation or child protective services. Our program includes long-range treatment planning, a strong therapeutic component, structure, and behavioral management.

Each child is provided with a master-level case manager/social worker from our agency to work closely with the placing agency to ensure the child's case plan is developed and implemented. This worker will follow the child throughout their placement with us to provide consistency for the child.

Golden State Foster Family agency is a division of Golden State Family Services, Inc., a non-profit corporation licensed by Community Care Licensing through the California Department of Social Services. We are licensed to serve ambulatory children, ages 0-17 years of age.
