You Want To Be A Foster Parent
- Make the decision
to work with children in your
home who are at-risk and
are in need of a safe, structured and nurturing
environment.
- Commit to ensuring
your home will meet the Health and Safety
requirements that are mandated by the state and
this agency.
- Parents must attend
an orientation session.
- Both parents must
complete a certified first aid and CPR course at
a cost of $20.00 due at the time of the training.
- Everyone over the
age of 18 living in the home must be
fingerprinted and child abuse cleared.
- Complete and
provide all paperwork necessary for certification
purposes.
- Both parents must
be interviewed by Golden State staff.
- All adults living
in the home must complete an autobiography and
participate in a home study evaluation.
- The family agrees
to work in a partnership with Golden State and
the staff.
- All final decisions
regarding certification are made by the area
manager at Golden State Family Services.
